Dear Parents and Guardian,
We would like to welcome you
to the 4th grade. We are looking forward to working with you to make
this a successful and productive year for your child.
Students will be rotating
classes for the first time this year. This is a big change for them. They will
have three teachers. Each teacher will have different assignments and
responsibilities, so it is very important that students stay organized. You can
help them do this by encouraging organization and good study habits at home.
Each teacher will have a notebook for students that their assignments/work will
be completed in. Students need to make sure to keep notebooks neat and orderly
so they can stay organized in each individual class. Student’s grades will be posted
on engrade.
Our students will have
homework every night. Each student is responsible for getting his/her homework
together every afternoon in order to take home. Teachers do not write the
assignments down for them. They are posted on the board. The students have to
get all the materials they need to do each teacher’s assignment. Teacher will
not be checking to make sure they have what they need.
School begins at 8:00 a.m.
and ends at 3:00 p.m. It is very important that your child is on time and at
school everyday. For the safety and
well-being of our students, after the first week, parents are no longer
permitted to walk the students to and from class. This is now a school-wide
policy.
Your child will also have a reading log that needs to
be completed every week. This is documentation that your child is reading
everyday. This will go as a reading daily grade.
If you have any concerns
about your child, please let us know. Our planning period will be from
10:50-11:35. Call the school at 663-3700 or e-mail us to make an appointment. Also,
our school website will be a valuable tool for you to use to learn about
upcoming events, assignments, rules, and etc. www.scottcounty.net
