Fairview Elementary’s school day has always begun at 7:50am.  Car riders have always dismissed at 3:05, but we were given some leeway with our dismissal time ONLY while gym construction was occurring. This is because we lost our bus ramp. There was no way to have parents picking up car riders while buses were also trying to pull in, so we moved our pickup time to 2:45 temporarily. When the new gym and new parking lot were turned over to us last spring, we kept the 2:45 pickup time just to finish out the year without extra confusion.

Now that we have figured out how to maneuver the buses on our new parking lot, we can officially return back to our regular 3:05 dismissal time. All students who are car riders will be receiving a brightly colored sign with their names on them to place in your car window.  We have been a little relaxed with this in the past; however, this year, we need ALL parents/guardians to place these signs in their car windows. No exceptions. We have several new staff who are assisting with car rider duty and this will make things much more efficient and safe altogether. If you pick your child up before 3:05, he/she must be signed out in the office, and unfortunately, each minute has to count against that student, per state attendance laws, which we must comply with. I promise we aren’t being mean… we are just trying to have school. If you have any questions, please call the office. 🙂

Thanks,
